During Transit from the Retailer to CargoNest LLC

CargoNest LLC is not responsible for any damages that occur while items are being transported from the store to our facility. If you find that your items are damaged during this stage, please contact the seller or store for assistance.

We have observed that most damages are due to insufficient packing by the seller or store. Often, items purchased from individual sellers are not packed with enough cushioning. Since damages have been reported with both carrier and postal shipments, we advise you to request that the seller or store uses ample cushioning materials when packing your merchandise.

Please be aware that damage can still occur even with proper packing. Major retailers like Amazon and eBay sometimes ship items without adequate cushioning or outside of their original boxes, which can lead to damage during transit.

Transit damage is not limited to just fragile items. Retailers sometimes ship products with extra space in the boxes, which can cause items to shift and potentially damage others within the package.

As a member of CargoNest LLC, we will inform you immediately if we receive your merchandise in visibly damaged condition. This allows you to contact the retailer for a replacement or refund.

Food items, including supplements, that are damaged in transit will be discarded for hygiene reasons after we provide a photo to the customer.

We always suggest opting for our optional inspection service and/or insurance when shipping fragile items. This service allows us to thoroughly check your package (including inside the retail box if not sealed) to ensure everything is intact and matches the invoice/shipping request. Without this inspection, we cannot confirm damage if the item is packed in a way that prevents basic visual inspection.

For additional verification, consider using our scan service, which involves capturing an image of the package contents. This differs from the inspection service as it allows you to view the quality of the items through a photo taken at the time of registration.

During Transit from CargoNest LLC to You

Your shipment will only be sent from our facility once it has been properly repacked for quality control. For fragile items, our team takes extra precautions to ensure safe delivery, which may involve packing them in larger boxes with additional cushioning.

*Note that this may result in higher shipping costs, especially for fragile items. While this process significantly reduces the risk of damage, it does not completely eliminate it.

There have been instances of liquid products like shampoo and lotion leaking during transit, typically due to pressure changes during air transport. Damage from such leaks is not covered by insurance. We wrap liquid bottles in plastic bags to protect other items, but often pack them separately to avoid such issues.

CargoNest LLC is not liable for damage occurring after the package leaves our facility unless you have opted for insurance.

If your package does not arrive within 2 weeks of the expected delivery date, please notify us as soon as possible for assistance. We cannot address inquiries beyond 2 weeks due to the time-sensitive nature of international shipments and returns.

Insurance Coverage

IMPORTANT: If you do not select 'Shipment Insurance' when submitting your shipping request, you will not be able to claim for damage or loss. We strongly recommend choosing Shipping Insurance, particularly for valuable items. If you do not select this option, CargoNest LLC will not be liable for damages and cannot provide compensation.

Shipments can be insured for an additional fee at the time of shipping. If damage occurs and Shipping Insurance was selected, we will review each claim individually to determine compensation.

To file a claim, please send the following to info@cargonestllc.com:

  • Names and descriptions of damaged items
  • Photos of the damaged items
  • Photos of the shipping box/container
  • A copy of the original invoice (including the retail purchase price of damaged items)

Please keep all packing materials, including the shipping box and cushioning. You cannot open an insurance claim if these are discarded.

Compensation decisions are ultimately made by the carrier. Without physical evidence, insurance coverage may not apply. Carriers also consider whether items are in their original manufacturer boxes. Purchases from eBay sellers who do not provide original packaging may face denial of compensation if there is no clear damage to the external shipping box. In such cases, carriers might refuse compensation if they believe the item was already damaged upon removal from the original box.

Instances Not Eligible for Compensation on Damaged Packages:

  • Moving the package from the original shipping address may disqualify it from compensation, as carriers need to inspect the item.
  • If someone other than the CargoNest LLC account holder handles the damaged package.
  • Waiting more than one day after delivery to notify our team. Carriers require prompt notification.
  • Using your own broker for customs clearance may void insurance and compensation from CargoNest LLC or the carrier.

CargoNest LLC is not liable or responsible for compensation in these cases, and compensation will be determined by the carrier. While we facilitate communication between our members and carriers, we are not accountable for transit damage if insurance is not selected.

Lost or Stolen Packages

Insurance does not cover loss or theft if the package is confirmed delivered by the carrier.

Returned Packages

If the carrier attempts delivery but the package is not signed for or is rejected and returned to our facility, you must report it within two weeks of the scheduled delivery time. Failure to do so will result in the item being discarded. It is your responsibility to notify us of returned packages.

Members are responsible for return shipping fees and any related costs. Return import fees often exceed the original shipping fees and are non-refundable. CargoNest LLC does not cover fees related to returns from Customs.

Declaring Value & Insurance

The member provides the value and contents details in our system and is fully responsible for the accuracy of this information. The declared value will be used for Customs purposes unless deemed unreasonable, in which case we will request an adjustment. You are responsible for any customs assessments. Insurance coverage is limited to the declared value, and carriers will only offer compensation up to this amount. If Customs confiscates the package, carriers typically do not provide compensation, and CargoNest LLC cannot offer compensation either.
